2s.009 Explorations in Product Design

Revolve (Fall 2020)

In this course, I worked with 12 classmates to completely ideate, design, fabricate and assemble an original product of our choice. We decided on creating a physical therapy supplement tool called Revolve, which utilizes a flywheel assembly inside of a dumbbells' shell to introduce additional forces to an exercise to activate more muscles and engage the mind of the user.

We went through multiple iterations throughout the semester on campus (shortened due to COVID-19). In the beginning, I helped with brainstorming the original product and fabricating the flywheels for the first iterations. After a critical design review, I designed the motorized base component used to spin up the flywheels in the shell, using Autodesk Fusion 360.
