Test Fixture Redesign

Metis Design Corporation Extern (January 2020)

During my month at Metis, I redesigned a 3-point bending test fixture, used for fatigue testing laminated materials. The goal was to grant the fixture enough flexibility to test specimens with varying dimensions, while maintaining accurate alignment and measure during testing.  I redesigned previous parts & created new ones, and engaged in multiple design reviews to review each iteration of CAD assemblies. I also negotiated with machinists shop/hardware providers to stay within budget.

I also reverse engineered a small desktop CNC Router in order to double its bed size while minimizing costs.
